May 14, 2010, Newsletter Issue #165: Swim Caps Are Still Chic!

Tip of the Week

In the 1930's and 40's, many women wore decorative, chic swim caps to protect their hair from getting wet and being damaged by chemicals. Today, competitive swimmers wear a more functional cap made of latex or silicone to aid hydrodynamics. Don't assume that they are only for professional swimmers, though. Chlorine can do a lot of damage to your hair, especially if it is color treated. Go for a retro look when lounging in the pool with a floral decorated swim cap.
