Tip of the Week

Choosing a type of swim cap can sometimes be confusing. Which type of cap should I choose, and which is the best for what I want to use it for?

If you are a recreational swimmer or like to do water aerobics, the nylon caps are the most comfortable when worn for the longest period of time. They are also however, the least strong and allow for the most amount of water to get under the cap and wet the hair, creating more drag.

If your local pool or lake requires swim caps to be worn by all swimmers, nylon caps are the best choice for children and adults that do not plan on swimming strenuous laps. When swimming laps, training, or competing, latex or silicone swim caps are a far better option.
